Mother’s Day is here, so consider adding a simple Brunch Beverage Bar to your morning plans with all of the fixings Mom could ever desire. Here are some great tips to help create a beverage bar your mom deserves!
Frozen Fruits Are Your Friends
Why make the extra trip to the grocery store when there are (probably) hidden treasures right in your freezer? Bags of frozen berries are great for making syrups, purees, and infusions but also make delicious alternatives to ice cubes. Pick two or three of your favorite frozen fruits to have on hand and don’t forget the serving spoons!
Juices, Pureés, and Syrups--Oh My!
Scavenge your pantries and fridges for a wide selection of ingredients to share with guests. Traditional juices such as orange, grapefruit, pineapple, cranberry, and pomegranate are classics for a brunch beverage but flavored waters and seltzers can also be incredible when mixed with a more flavorful syrup. Take into consideration options for those enjoying mocktails, too.
Just Add Bubbles
Just because you do not have Champagne does not mean your cannot have a great mimosa! The forgotten about bottle of Prosecco, sparkling Rosé, or even that lonely bottle of sparkling apple juice from last New Years Eve can all be treasured. Remember to do your beverage treasure hunt the night before so everything can be well chilled for the morning.
Options, Options, Options
Variety is always appreciated when looking to make a delicious drink. We all have different taste preferences when it comes to how we like our beverages. Sweetness, tartness, bitterness, and booziness should be available at different levels when choosing ingredients for your bar set up. Small display containers will help to cut down on waste when making more options available.
Keep It Fresh (When You Can)
Be sure to take advantage of the season when using fresh produce and herbs. Fresh fruits and even vegetables (think cucumber, jalapeños and sweet peas) are great for garnishes. Some of our absolute favorite herbs for brunch beverages include mint, basil, and rosemary.
