SUMMARY
By incorporating the attributes of self-confidence, enthusiasm, product knowledge, creativity, and common sense, represents all Saint Lawrence Spirits products to Independent Retail stores and On Premise locations.
COMPENSATION
Salary (based on experience), an unlimited 10% commission on product sales, paid vacation, company car with gas card, and 401k matching
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conducts direct sales business in Rochester / Buffalo territory and greater regions in Western NY in such a way that an appropriate sales volume will be achieved.
Conducts weekly tastings at customer locations. Hire 3 or 4 Tasting associates in both Rochester and Buffalo
Through the use of business builders and trackers, pre-plans each call for maximum effectiveness.
Knows the sales trends in each account, understands the business strategies and practices of each decision maker.
Knowledge of products, promotional and merchandising programs to achieve and maintain 100% distribution achievement in every account.
Demonstrates entrepreneurial spirit for seeking out new accounts.
Listens carefully to needs and preferences of decision makers.
Uses data facts and figures, etc. to correctly make persuasive sales presentations.
Overcomes objections raised during a sales presentation.
Merchandises products through use of Point of Sale materials and shelf management, and creative mass display to stimulate impulse sales.
Provides continuing and conscientious service to each account by managing accounts receivable, inventory, rotating display product and shelf stock when necessary.
Maintains up to date route cards and account records.
Uses PCs for storing and downloading customer order, and reporting sales information.
Provides management with accurate weekly sales reports and display tracking.
Effectively handles special in-store problems and reporting that might occur from time to time.
Projects a professional appearance while being resourceful, friendly and persistent with decision makers.
Maintains a cooperative attitude with management and provides reports that are accurate and on time.
Practices safe work and driving habits and, if accountable for others, ensures their understanding and compliance of such habits.
Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Hire / Train and Schedule Tasting Associates for in store tastings throughout the market.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
21 years of age or older.
Valid driver’s license and successful completion of background check. Required to obtain a New York driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
No more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years and no DUI/DWI convictions within the past 5 years.
Required to lift and move cases of product that weighs up to 60 pounds.
Required to work weekends for special functions/events when necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years retail sales experience or 2 years wine sales experience.
Skilled in demonstrating teamwork and leadership.
Experienced in reading and comprehending simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Experienced in writing simple correspondence.
Experienced in effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Experienced in planning and organizing work through effective project management.
